Private Family in Palm Beach, Florida Seeking a Live-In Housekeeper/Cook

Position: Full-Time Live-In Housekeeper/Cook
Schedule: Live-in coverage Sunday at 6:00 PM through Friday at 6:00 PM. Approximately 30–40 working hours per week, with breaks and downtime throughout the day.
Salary: $80,000–$90,000 per year, depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP – family is ready to hire as soon as they find the right fit
Relocation: Open to qualified candidates who can reliably work in Palm Beach and are available for live-in accommodations while on shift

A private family in Palm Beach, FL is seeking an energetic, organized, and proactive Live-In Housekeeper/Cook to help maintain their home and support their day-to-day household needs. The family is looking for someone mature, polite, efficient, and positive who can take direction well while also having the initiative to recognize what needs to be done and handle tasks independently.

The family's 13,000-square-foot residence is professionally deep cleaned, so this position is primarily focused on maintaining the home between deep cleans, managing laundry and ironing, preparing simple family meals, grocery shopping, and keeping the household running smoothly.

Cooking is an important component of the position. Meals are generally light and straightforward, but the candidate must genuinely enjoy cooking and be comfortable grilling regularly , as grilled meals are a family favorite.

The family would also love to find someone who is available to travel with them to the Hamptons during the summer months. Private live-in accommodations are available in both residences.

Adults: 2

Children: Two older sons who are currently in college and occasionally return home. The family plans to bring in additional household help when the sons are home and the household is busier.

Home Size: Approximately 13,000 sq. ft.; many areas of the residence receive limited daily use.

Pets: None

Household Staff: A professional cleaning company handles deep cleaning. Additional household help may be brought in during busier periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily light housekeeping and general upkeep to maintain the home between professional deep cleanings.
• Make beds and keep bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen areas, and commonly used spaces neat, clean, and organized.
• Handle household laundry, including washing, folding, putting items away, and ironing as needed.
• Prepare morning coffee and breakfast for the family.
• Prepare simple, light lunches and family dinners according to the family's preferences.
• Regularly prepare grilled meals; strong grilling skills and enjoyment of grilling are required.
• Assist with dinner preparation, service as appropriate, and complete kitchen and dining-area cleanup following meals.
• Grocery shop approximately two to three times per week and maintain appropriate household food supplies.
• Run household errands as requested.
• Maintain an organized, efficient daily routine and identify tasks that need attention without requiring constant direction.
• Work efficiently and complete household responsibilities in a timely manner.
• Adapt to busier periods when the family's college-aged sons are home and collaborate effectively with additional household help.
• Drive as needed for grocery shopping, errands, and other household responsibilities; a vehicle will be provided.
• Ideally travel with the family to the Hamptons during the summer months.

Requirements

• Prior professional housekeeping and cooking experience, preferably within a private household
• Spanish-speaking required
• Strong grilling skills required
• Comfortable preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with an emphasis on simple family-style meals
• Experience with daily light housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and household organization
• Proactive, organized, efficient, and able to work independently
• Mature, polite, adaptable, and receptive to direction
• Ability to work quickly while maintaining appropriate household standards
• Valid driver's license and safe driving history
• Comfortable running errands and grocery shopping regularly
• Ability to live in while on shift from Sunday evening through Friday evening
• Summer travel to the Hamptons is strongly preferred
• Excellent professional references
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Position Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience

Living Accommodations: Live-in accommodations are provided while on shift at the Palm Beach residence, including a private bedroom and private bathroom . When traveling with the family to the Hamptons, the candidate will also have private live-in accommodations .
