Salary: $70,000 - 90,000 per year Requirements:

• We value demonstrated quantitative and coding ability more than years of experience.
• We are looking for candidates with zero to two years of professional experience.
• We require strong Python skills, including pandas and NumPy, and comfort working with data too large for Excel.
• Knowledge of R, SQL, MATLAB, or VBA is a plus.
• A bachelors or masters degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
• Comfort handling large structured datasets, messy text fields, and regular expressions is important.
• We want people who can explain their analysis clearly in writing and verbally to non-technical audiences.
• We look for candidates who ask questions early and respond well to feedback.
• We value organized, reliable, and detail-oriented people who prioritize accuracy.
• Experience with Git, relational databases, or command-line tools is a plus.
• Coursework, internships, or personal projects involving real-world data are welcomed.
• Experience presenting technical work to a non-technical audience is a plus.
• A bachelors degree is required.
• One year of coding experience is required.
• One year of Python experience is required.
• Ability to commute to McLean, VA 22102 is required.

• Clean, reshape, and merge large or messy datasets in Python so the code can be rerun later.
• Verify calculations and ensure every result can be traced back to its source.
• Create tables, exhibits, and charts that support the conclusions in our reports.
• Explain analysis clearly, both in writing and out loud, to colleagues and clients who did not perform the work.
• Shift between matters as priorities change and learn unfamiliar material quickly.

We are SLCG Economic Consulting, founded in 2000, and we provide finance and economics consulting and expert testimony to law firms, regulatory agencies, banks, brokerage firms, and corporations.
